PM Modi inaugurates First Uttarakhand Investors Summit in Dehradun


Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Uttarakhand Investors Summit in Dehradun. All the leading business firms and industrial houses participated in the two-day event to explore investment opportunities in the hill state in 12 major sectors, including tourism and hospitality.  

PM stated that, in Uttarakhand any MSME loan upto 1 crore will be sanctioned fast.  Mr Modi introduced a new meaning to SEZ, that is Spiritual EcoZone and said Uttarakhand Government should focus in this Sector.

Country’s biggest skill competition ‘India Skills 2018’ concludes

The country’s biggest skill competition, India Skills 2018 has concluded in New Delhi. The 164 winners were awarded by Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Anant Kumar Hegde. 

India Skills 2018 was the second edition of the nationwide competition organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to identify, recognize, promote and reward the best talents in various skills. Some of the winners of the competition will be given additional training, before they represent India at the 45th World Skills Competition at Kazan, Russia in 2019.

Railway Minister lays foundation stone of two key railway projects in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and the state Chief Minister Raman Singh laid the foundation stone of two key railway projects. According to  Piyush Goyal, the construction of a new railway line connecting Katghora-Mungeli-Kawardha-Dongargarh would accelerate the growth of the mineral rich region and bring prosperity. 

Mr Goyal was speaking at the function held in Kawardha to lay the foundation of the 295 kilometre project, which will be built at a cost of Rs 6,000 crore. On the occasion, the union minister also flagged off Korba-Raipur-Korba Hasdeo Express through video conferencing.

Centre to reimburse nearly Rs 450 cr to Karnataka


The Centre has assured Karnataka government that nearly 450 crore rupees will be reimbursed to it in connection with the expenditure incurred for procuring cereals and coarse cereals. 

This assurance came during a meeting between Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi.

Election Commission announces assembly election dates for 5 states

The Election Commission has announced the poll schedule for Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. While Chhattisgarh will have two-phase elections, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana will have single phase election. 

Chief Election Commissioner, OP Rawat stated the counting of votes in all states will take place on 11th of December. The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect.

Atal Innovation Mission & SIRIUS Sign MoU

To promote innovative cooperation between students of India and Russia, an MoU was exchanged between India’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and the Russian Federation’s SIRIUS Educational Foundation in the presence of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, in New Delhi. 
The AIM and SIRUS Education Foundation were represented by Mission Director Shri. R Ramanan and Ms. Elena Shmeleva respectively.

WFE Appoints Vikram Limaye As Chairman of Working Committee

The National Stock Exchange’s (NSE) MD and CEO Vikram Limaye has been appointed the chairman of the working committee and director on the board by the international industry body–World Federation of Exchanges (WFE).
The decision was taken at the global body’s 58th general assembly and annual meeting that is currently underway in Athens, Greece.

Apple Displaced Google To Become The Top Brand In The World

Apple displaced Google to become the top brand in the world in 2018 while Facebook, mired in data breach controversies, fell to ninth place in the top 100 brands globally. According to global brand consultancy Interbrand’s “Best 100 Global Brands 2018” report, Amazon achieved a 56% growth to become the third top brand globally. 
According to the ranking, Apple’s brand value grew 16 per cent (year-on-year) to $214.5 billion. It went on to become the first company in the US to hit the $1 trillion market cap. Google stood at second place while Amazon is third.

Reliance Health Insurance Gets Final Approval From IRDAI


Reliance Health Insurance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Capital,  has received final approval from IRDAI for its new health insurance business. The new company will commence operations by the December quarter of 2018. 
Reliance Capital has designated Ravi Viswanath, who has over two decades of global experience in health insurance, as CEO of the new health insurance company. Health insurance in India has been amongst the fastest growing insurance sectors, growing at 20 per cent annually, and is expected to double to over Rs 1 lakh crore by 2021.
